A football stadium, a farm, a disco club, Batman and a ski lodge – those are just some of the themes incorporated into 14 different Rube Goldberg Machines that competed in the Milwaukee Regional Rube Goldberg High School Machine Contest, held at Discovery World on February 27.  The Contest challenged teams this year to “replace an incandescent light bulb with a more energy efficient light emitting design.”  Spooner High School with their "Edison versus Tesla" themed machine won the regional competition.  Spooner went on to compete in the National Rube Goldberg High School Machine Contest at Purdue University on Saturday, March 28, 2009.
