Fifteen high school teams gathered at Discovery World on February 26 to compete in the 2010 Milwaukee Regional Rube Goldberg Machine Contest.  With a challenge centered on "Dispensing an Appropriate Amount of Hand Sanitizer into a Hand" students constructed clever and imaginative machines that ranged in designs from Super Mario Brothers to The Addams Family, complete with Thing and Cousin IT.

Five teams advanced to the finals:  Crivitz High School, Dubuque Senior High School, Janesville Craig High School, Pius XI High School, and St. Catherine's High School.  It was an extremely close race but in the end St. Catherine's High School of Racine, WI took home the first place prize with their Super Mario Brothers inspired machine.  St. Catherine's High School will go on to compete in the National Rube Goldberg Machine Contest at Purdue University on March 27, 2010.  Good luck, St. Catherine's!

Gus Gnorski of Fox6 Milwaukee stopped by to interview the teams and tour the contest. Check out the video beneath the winners' photos!  For additional videos, go to Gus Gnorski's "Gus Tours" video list on Fox6's  page, here (scroll at the bottom of the page to find the videos).
