The 2012 Milwaukee Regional Rube Goldberg Machine Contest was held at the Waukesha County Technical College on March 3.  Twenty-two schools competed for a chance to advance to the National Rube Goldberg Competition in Big Rapids, Michigan.

The challenge this year was to inflate a balloon and pop it in 20 or more steps.   Teams brought their "A" game with machines that featured clever themes  such as Up, Star Wars, Las Vegas, and modern American military history.

Six high school teams advanced to the finals:  Antigo High  School, Wauwatosa West High School, Kimberly High School, Waunakee High  School, St. Catherine's High School and Southwest High School.  Kimberly  won first place with their Up machine.  They went on to compete at  the National Competition on March 17, 2012 and won first place!

Congratulations to all of our winners and special award winners!
