The 2013 Wisconsin Regional Rube Goldberg Machine Contest was held at the Waukesha County Technical College on March 1.  Twenty-two schools competed for a chance to advance to the National Rube Goldberg Competition hosted by STEM Forward at WCTC on March 16.

The challenge this year was to hammer a nail in 20 or more  steps.  Teams brought their "A" game with creative machines that ranged in design from The Lord of the Rings to Marvel comics and even Tool Time from Home Improvement.

Six high school teams advanced to the finals:  Janesville Craig High School, Waunakee High School, Antigo High School - 100% ICE, Antigo High School - Newton's 4th, St. Catherine's High School and Waupaca High School.  Janesville Craig took first place with their circus themed machine.  They will go on to compete at the National Competition hosted by STEM Forward at WCTC on March 16, 2013
