Join us on January 21, 2017 for the Wisconsin Regional Future City Competition at MSOE's Kern Center. Students from across Wisconsin will be competing for the state title as well as the opportunity to compete at the National Competition in Washington D.C. where the winning team receives an all expenses paid trip to Space Camp!
The event is free and open to the public, feel free to stop by and discover what today's generation envisions for our future!
What is Future City?
The competition introduces middle school students to engineering while they create a city of the future. With the help of an engineering mentor and a teacher, teams of middle school students create a virtual city using SimCity software, write a 1,500 word city description on this year's challenge: The Power of Public Space, design an innovative, multiuse space that serves a city's diverse population. They also build a to-scale model of their city using recycled materials and give a 5-7 minute presentation to a panel of STEM professionals.
