Future City is a project-based learning program where middle school students imagine, research, design, and build cities 100 years in the future. The program has various deliverables: researching, designing the city with SimCity Software, writing, building scale models, and presenting their cities to local STEM professionals. Each year, DicoverE announces a new theme challenge for the students to base their cities on. This year’s theme challenge, Clean Water: Tap into Tomorrow, asks participants to identify a threat to their future city’s water supply and design a resilient system to ensure a reliable supply of clean drinking water.
